Nanga Parbat climbers rescued
A pair of Italian mountain climbers has been rescued from one of the world's highest peaks, after being trapped for nine days. A Pakistani army helicopter rescued Walter Nones and Simon Kehrer after they managed to descend to a level of around 6,000 metres on Mount Nanga Parbat in the Himalayas. The Italian embassy in Pakistan said the mountaineers were in good health. Their companion, Karl Unterkircher, fell to his death last week.
