The people of living on the island of Madagascar never know when the next tropical cyclone will hit. Yet, they know that cyclones kill and displace people along the coast every year. Earlier this year, nearly 145,000 people were left homeless by a cyclone that tore through Madagascar.
The government is working hard on preventive measures as the intensity of cyclones has been increasing over the past few years. Very often, the poor are always the worst affected because there are not enough shelters.
