The Risk I Take
One Man's Fight Against AIDS

When Frieder Alberth turned 50, he decided it was time to give his life a new direction.  He wanted to use his knowledge and experience with AIDS prevention, counseling and therapy to help sufferers in other countries.  He quit his job as head of Augsburg's AIDS counseling service, cashed in his life insurance policy and founded the Connect Plus Association.  Within a year, he had it up and running.  That year was 2001.  This report is a look at the man and the idealist Frieder Alberth and his dedicated efforts in Ukraine.  He tells of the road he traveled to get where he is now – a road full of obstacles and risks.
