World Cup Gives Homeless New Goals
Until the 7 th of December, more than 500 soccer players from 48 countries will meet in Melbourne, Australia to compete for the World Cup – the Homeless World Cup.
All the players at this tournament have one thing in common : to compete they must be homeless. The premise of the event is simple: give people who are down and out a goal, and they’ll shoot for it. And, in the process, maybe that can even help them turn around their lives. Darrell Harvey talked to homeless soccer players in Toronto, Canada before they set out for Melbourne.
