Radiomultikulti Signs Off
A small but impassioned listenership won't take no for an answer
Europe’s first multicultural radio station, launched in Berlin in 1994 and broadcasting in twenty-one languages, was aimed at Berlin’s migrant community of over 430,000. But with only about 30,000 listeners, the decision was made to cease operations. Berliners have rallied behind Radiomultikulti, presenting a petition to the mayor with over 30,000 signatures.
