Stopping the Decline: researchers say they can inhibit Alzheimer's
Researchers on Alzheimer's disease in the German cities of Halle, Magdeburg and Leipzig have discovered a previously unknown enzyme after an eight-year search. They say the enzyme is linked to changes to peptides in the brain that lead to the damage witnessed in Alzheimer's patients.
Tomorrow Today explores their study of mice with the disease and speaks to one of the researchers. They say the outlook is promising for developing a drug to block the enzyme's effects.Tomorrow Today has more.
