Celebrating The Best Blogs Worldwide
This week a very special award's ceremony is being held in Berlin. It's the blogosphere's very own Oscars night: the "BOBs" -- the best of the blogs.
It's an award ceremony that first began back in 2004 after being set up by Deutsche Welle. It's now the world's biggest international weblog awards for blogs, podcasts and videoblogs. There were more than 8,500 nominations this year, which was a 20 per cent increase from 2007. It aims to foster understanding and exchange between cultures and people. There are 11 different languages and16 different categories, which ensures there’s plenty of room for some interesting and unique blogs.
This week COOL hears from one of the jury members, 25 year old Fernez Seifi from Iran, and one of the bloggers up for nomination, 22 year old Abdol Mohammad Sherani – for his unique blog about the world's smallest school.
