Cities Unite Together to Preserve Urban Biodiversity
Countries from around the world are looking at the best ways to preserve the nature they have in their own backyards.
21 local governments around the world are working towards managing urban biodiversity on a global scale with The Local Action for Biodiversity, or LAB Project. This project aims to raise the profile and promote the importance of urban biodiversity and help local governments’ management of biodiversity. The initiative involves The Global Partnership on Cities and Biodiversity, Local Governments for Sustainability (ICLEI), the UN Habitat Program and the International Union for the Conservation of Nature. Living Planet found out more about the city of Bonn’s participation in the global project.
