Business confidence in the country fell in November to the lowest level since 1993, according to the key Ifo business climate index.
The poll of 7,000 companies is carried out by the Institute for Economic Research in Munich and has dropped now for 6 consecutive months. Germany has already slipped into recession, as exports have been hard hit by falling demand worldwide. So what actual effect does a cooling of the business climate have on the economy? That’s the question Money Talks put to the survey’s co-ordinator, Dr Klaus Abberger.
